Sandy Leaf Lettuce is an open-pollinated, heirloom that matures in30 days for baby greens; 50 days mature. First lettuce since 1985 to become an All-American Selection! New oakleaf type looks as good as it tastes with ruffled bright green leaves in densely packed whorls. At 10-12″ high and wide, it is compact enough to grow in a container, raised bed or garden areas. Very slow bolting. Keeps its texture and flavor in the garden even in unseasonable heat without a trace of bitterness! Exceptional for salads and sandwiches. Cut-and-come again variety – Pick just what you want and let new leaves grow to replace the old or let the head mature.
