Emerald Green Velvet Okra

Emerald Green Velvet is an open-pollinated heirloom okra variety. This variety matures in 58 days. A favorite of Southern gardeners, it is a Campbell Soup Company variety from 1950. High quality and early 5-6′ tall plants produce heavy yields of tasty 6- 8″ long spineless, dark green, tapered round pods. Best to harvest when 3-4″ long for best taste and tenderness. Thrives in HOT temperatures! Emerald Green Velvet is an excellent variety for soups, stews, gumbos, fried, boiling, canning and freezing. Approximately 500 seeds per ounce or 8000 seeds per pound.
