Chioggia Beet is an Open-Pollinated HEIRLOOM which matures in 60 days. Colorful addition to any plate! Beautiful Italian 2-3″ round beet with unique alternating red and white rings within a scarlet skin.  Chioggia Beet’s flesh is very tender, mild and sweet. Mild flavored 12″ tops are green with red-striped stems that can be eaten raw or cooked and are an excellent substitute for spinach. Chioggia Beet is fast growing and long-standing in the fall. Ideal for boiling, pickling, baking and freezing. A true specialty item for Fresh Markets!  Approximately 1,500 seeds per ounce or 24,000 seeds per pound.<
